It's hard to look at these photos now (and to go out and ride
him in person!) and think about how far he has come in the time I have had him. I always had hope he'd come this far,
but sometimes I have to pinch myself, especially when I think about how we haven't really had any consistent instruction.

The day I met Thunder....Penn National racecourse, December 26th, 2005. |
I know he looked a little scraggly and plain, but after spending some time in his stall with
him, it was obvious to me that he was more than dirt and bones.
|
Thunder's first day with me. He's a little thin and scared. |
|
Thunder in February, 2006. I got some weight on him... |
|
Thunder in April 2006. His first weeks under saddle. Notice he's still very tense... |

A much happier, relaxed, and healthy horse....May 2006. |

"I'm worried that the colorful fence and flowers might bite me...but WOW can I jump!" |
|
Thunder on July 4th, 2007. Much more chilled out about colorful flowers and fences. |
